How to Reset a Wii Remote
The Nintendo Wii video game console uses Wii wireless controllers equipped with motion and speed sensors that allow the user control through movement. By synchronizing the sensors inside the primary controller, or Wii Remote, with the Sensor Bar plugged into the Wii console, the movements of the Wii Remote are tracked and reflected on your television. If the movement of the Wii Remote does not closely match the movement of the cursor on your television, you may need to reset the Wii Remote controller.
Seven steps help you to reset the Wii controller:
Press the “Power” button on the front of the Wii to turn the console off. The “Power” button is at the top of the console and above the “Reset” button.
Unplug the Wii’s power cord from the electrical outlet. Wait 10 to 20 seconds and then plug the Wii’s power cord back into the electrical outlet.
Locate the long, rectangular compartment on the front of the Wii console. The compartment is below the “Reset” button. Lift the cover of the compartment and find the red “Sync” button.
Press and hold the “Sync” button for 15 seconds as soon as the Wii’s “Health and Safety” screen appears on your television.
Remove the battery cover from the back of the Wii Remote you want to reset and locate the small red button on the right-hand side just below the batteries.
Press the small red button once. The blue lights on your Wii’s sensor bar will start to blink.
Quickly press and release the red “Sync” button in the compartment on the front of your Wii console. The blue lights on the sensor bar will stop blinking and will remain blue once the reset is complete.
